Our Mission

The Paperflower Foundation provides financial assistance for therapy, psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and prescriptions to those living in Arizona facing barriers to care. We bridge gaps in mental health access caused by job loss, loss of insurance, or financial hardship. We aim to ensure that the path to healing is not cut short by hardship.

"I’ve made so many strides in my mental health recovery, and I want to keep moving forward with grace"

"Three years ago, I was fighting for my life at 21, battling severe mental health issues since childhood. Despite being on medication for anxiety and depression since 14, I often ended up in the hospital from suicide attempts. I had no financial support, relying on my parents' insurance while struggling to maintain my small business.

After two difficult hospital stays, I found a therapist who recommended an intensive outpatient program, which was life-changing and covered by my family's insurance plan. Since entering the program a few years ago, I’ve not had another attempt. Although I still face mental health challenges, I'm grateful to be alive and receiving care through my family's insurance.

However, I'm anxious about turning 26 and losing that coverage. As a self-employed business owner, I worry about affording mental health care. I want to continue my recovery, achieve my dreams, and help others. Supporting the Paperflower Foundation can make a difference for those like me. Recovery is possible with the right support!"

Expanding Mental Health Access in Arizona

The Paperflower Foundation works to reduce financial barriers that prevent individuals from accessing therapy, psychiatric care, and medications. High deductibles, copays, medication costs, and gaps in insurance coverage often force individuals to delay or discontinue treatment.

Through targeted financial assistance and partnerships with providers, this initiative focuses on expanding access to consistent mental health care across Arizona.

Strengthening the Mental Health Workforce

Access to care depends on a stable and sustainable network of therapists and psychiatric providers. Increasing numbers of mental health professionals are leaving insurance networks due to low reimbursement rates and administrative burden, limiting access for patients who rely on insurance coverage.

This initiative supports providers who continue to serve insured and underinsured patients by helping stabilize reimbursement and sustain mental health practices.

How Our Initiatives Work

The Paperflower Foundation advances these initiatives through two core programs:

  • Treatment Access Fund

  • Provider Partnership Program

Together, these programs address both sides of the access gap; ultimately reducing financial barriers for patients while strengthening the providers who deliver care.
